What is College Unbound?
College Unbound (CU) is a student-driven, non-traditional, accredited college focused on providing comprehensive support for adult learners working towards a B.A. in Organizational Leadership & Change.

How do students learn at College Unbound?
Students learn through either 8-week or 16-week, synchronous or asynchronous virtual courses, and a weekly, full semester, in-person/virtual Workplace & World Lab. At the center of a CU student’s learning is a project based around their passion and interests, often incorporating entrepreneurial businesses, workplace initiatives, or social ventures. Students’ projects often stay with them post-graduation and have profound impacts on their communities.

Teaching at College Unbound

At College Unbound, our faculty are separated into two distinct types: Instructional Faculty and Lab Faculty.

Instructional Faculty (online)

Covering general education, majors, and electives, our Instructional Faculty oversee synchronous or asynchronous virtual courses over either an 8-week or 16-week session. Instructional Faculty support CU’s approach to high-touch, high-challenge learning by holding one-on-one meetings with students, providing formative feedback, and helping students connect courses and skill development with their projects.

Our in-person Workplace & World Lab provides a space for holistic support and growth led by Lab Faculty. Lab Faculty guide cohorts of students to graduation through the facilitation of relevant group discussions, 1:1 project development meetings, and cross collaboration with other faculty and staff to ensure students can complete their CU Core Projects.

We are accepting applications for the following faculty positions to fulfill our course needs for Spring 2027:

  2. Complete this Faculty Application for next steps.
  3. Initial screening
  4. First round interviews for selected applicants
  5. Second round interview selected applicants
  6. Credential and reference check of selected candidates
  7. Final hiring decision

Applications are reviewed during 3 cycles of the academic year.

  • Applications for Fall Semester are reviewed from March to April.
  • Applications for Summer Semester are reviewed from February to March.
  • Applications for Spring Semester are reviewed from August to November.
