This Wed., Sept. 21st: Reentry Symposium Series: "Educating the Incarcerated"
The Prison Bridge Program at College Unbound is hosting the first in a Reentry Symposium series to examine how higher education can play a significant role in the success of people returning home from prison. Discussion will be driven by formerly incarcerated individuals who have successfully completed degrees with the aim of supporting others on similar paths to success. The symposium is designed to bring together housing authorities, employers, social services, adult education, and the public sector to develop systems for supporting students through bachelor’s degree completion as a means of reducing recidivism and ending the cycle of incarceration.
Doug Wood of the Ford Foundation, a leading advocate for and evaluator of prison teaching programs, is the keynote speaker.
