As many of you know, our inaugural Philadelphia cohort just kicked off this semester. Now, thanks to a unanimous vote by the School Board for the School District of Philadelphia, College Unbound is thrilled to bring TA to BA to the staff of the Philadelphia public school system. TA to BA is a program to diversify K-6 public education by providing education paraprofessionals with BAs so that they can gain certification and become full classroom teachers.
At a time when the number of teachers quitting the profession has skyrocketed nearly 200% in the past year, we applaud the collaborative work of SDP and the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers to address the urgent need for dedicated educators.
